After months, possibly years, of planning, our Baldwin family of friends came for a weekend visit just before Thanksgiving. Laura had noted all the pieces of life we'd mentioned wanting to do together in the time that COVID and our move kept us apart. The weekend was full of specially curated favorite activities like a walk to the candy shop, perusing the chocolate factory they introduced us to, a leisurely afternoon of African tea, and a special meal we enjoy together.
One of the remarkable activities was a cake decorating lesson for our kids.
Everything Emily knows about cake decorating, she's learned from Laura. This one afternoon class will come back to us in fun ways all year long as Emily puts her new skills to the test with each passing birthday.
To explain what it meant to do life with friends, I need only to tell you the impression it made on Anne. Her prayer request ever since this visit has been for these friends to move here with us. When a five-year old gets God involved, anything could happen.
