Thanksgiving Travel Fun

On our way to visit Grandpa and Grammy for Thanksgiving, we boarded the Alamo shuttle bus at the Denver Airport.

The Alamo shuttle bus.  Oooooops.

We had booked a Budget car, and now, exhausted from travel, we were on the wrong shuttle bus.

After the other riders disembarked, the bus driver had compassion on us and drove us to our intended destination.  Philip could tell by his accent that the driver was from Africa, so he asked where.

"West Africa," was the reply.

So, Philip proceeded to have a conversation with the man in French explaining where we live and learning the driver was from Guinea.

As he gathered his bags to get off the bus, Philip asked, "What other languages do you know?"

"Djoula," was the reply.  Unbelievable!  That is the local language in our new home!

So Philip told him in his own heart language, "Thank you very much.  God give you a good tomorrow."

Who would have guessed we could use Djoula at the Denver Airport and make someone's day?!

I guess we weren't on the wrong shuttle bus after all.
