He. Sees. Color.

 For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are but dust.
Psalm 103:14
This was a great night.  A. GREAT. NIGHT.  I've been hesitant lately to share what the Lord is stirring up because (in my mind) no one would understand.  Don't believe it for a minute.  What a silly thought!  It didn't matter tonight if our friends "get" the joys and faith crises of moving to Africa, they know our God.  The rest is irrelevant when you're all following the dust of the same rabbi, as our friend Adam would say.  It's so much more fun, too, when it's not my story and your story, but it's all the same story played out together in different ways.  "Want faith"......were the simple, perfect words from my friend Mandy tonight, like a party favor she sent me home with at the end of the night.
"And my God will meet all your needs
according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19

On another breakthrough note, Little Matheny CAN SEE COLORS!  You probably know, all he can see is light and dark.  We've experimented with colored lights before, but were never able to tell with certainty if he could distinguish the differences. With the Bailey's big, bright, four-colored Christmas lights, he nailed the identifications on the first try.  Throughout the night he'd stick his face to the tree and we'd ask him to identify different colors....and he did!  Maybe you think I'm crazy to cry when my four year old says "RED" or maybe you're crying with me....I don't know, but isn't it fun?

Caught up on your blog today. "Laughter through tears" truly is the best emotion. I love you and I am so glad God blessed me by crossing our paths.
