This weekend we took the kids for a double feature at the drive-in. The drive-in is perfect for families, as kids aren't confined to seats like in a theater and well, kids are free. It's quite rare to have two family friendly movies but Dolphin Tale and Soul Surfer were both showing, so it was an *inspiring* evening.
At Sara's recommendation, we had visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium while in Florida and "met" Winter, the Dolphin Tale movie star. This is a dolphin who lost her tale after being entangled in a crab trap and wasn't expected to survive. Obviously, she lived, learned a new way to swim, and then became famous when she was given a prosthetic tail. I'm not an animal person, but even I was crying in the little documentary show at the Aquarium. (I liked the real life story better than the Hollywood film.)
You can imagine, the reason these stories are standing out to me right now is how they relate to Little Matheny and all that he has overcome. He was a helpless orphan in an impoverished nation. He didn't eat much, was often left alone, and was frequently sick.
But all of that has changed. All of it.
Real life tells a story better than any Hollywood production. The story of his life is simply this:
Jesus is alive and He saves.

Maybe you are becoming an animal person? Better late than never I always say, lol!
Thank you for writing down this story, and for obediently living it.
I love reading of His story in your family.
