Mother's Day

We went strawberry picking for the first time this season! The goal was to find a decent amount of red ones to give to my grandmother for Mother's Day. We were amazingly blessed to be able to share and still come home with a van full of strawberries! The dehydrator went non-stop for a day and a half - three gallons of berries are now in three pint size jars. Plus, enough in the freezer for three pies and the rest I froze whole for smoothies. Of course, we ate our fair share of them, so if the kids' poop red for a while, don't be surprised. And if the chickens lay strawberry flavored eggs from all the remnants, well, that would be okay, too. It just doesn't get any better than a strawberry that's red and juicy all the way through. Philip said I was "slurping" my strawberries out in the field. I say, if your strawberries are slurpable, why not?

Hey Sara! I hadn't come across your blog. Your little ones are darling! I love it when kids wear their shoes on the wrong foot - soo cute!
I hope y'all are doing well! XO

Haha, hi Bekki! She gets it right about half the time....Titus on the other hand would rather not wear any at all!

The best part of your strawberry picking adventure was Emily sharing a whole box with me! They were yummy and I feel honored to have been gifted with them!
